Don’t be sobby have a hobby!

Do you have an after school hobby? If you don’t you should get one.

They are a great benefit for you. You have been bored in your life

more than once. It’s agonizing sitting there wondering what am I

going to do today. Well what are you wanting for, Come on and get

energized! Here is why you need a after school hobby.

One reason is it totally passes time. You know when you come

After school, and you are bored, then you do your homework. Now you

Have the rest of the day. What do you do? Here is a tip. “Don’t be

bored.” By Poni Lejukole. “Read It!” Just kidding, but really. I do some

giant frisbee with friends and before I knew it, it’s dinner time! Try to

use it wisely.

Numero dos reason is it stops you from watching too much T.V.

Everybody loves watching T.V! Not always is it good for you. It’s

actually bad to watch all day. My friends and I were glued to the T.V.

one day. After that our eyes were strained. We all felt lazy. Not a very

good hobby to me. Don’t ever have that feeling.

Last one. It keeps you fit. I usually play soduku after school,

Then some basketball and frisbe. It keeps me healthy and strong. It’s

good to avoid sitting and eating. Doing something outside is good for

you. Like they say ”You need an hour of exercise a day.” So why not stay

fit have fun.

Those are my reasons why kids need after school hobbies. You

might think I don’t need that. I just like doing my homework. This is

still a good thing to do. You might go jogging, stretching, even

basketball, Every kid gets bored so why not have a after school hobby.

It would be a fun time for you and your friends so get moving!

Laura,
I liked your essay so much, it makes me want to get up, get out, and get a hobby!
Your giant Frisbee activity sounds like fun! I wonder how that works. I have played Frisbee, of course, and Frisbee golf (not easy!), but I've never played giant Frisbee.
Anyway, great essay.
I am a senior at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, Oklahoma. I have an assignment this week to find classroom blogs, and to leave comments on works by students. I have visited Mr. Goerend's class. Do you know him? Your class is listed on his blog, so that is how I found Mrs. Martin's class.
Anyway, once you get to college, or even high school, you will learn about persuasive essays, if you havn't already. Your opinion essay reminds me of a very good persuasive essay. You presented good examples of different hobbies, you had a clear message and you made your point, and most importantly, you got your audience wanting to act upon your suggestion of getting a hobby. Very effective.
Keep writing!
